UPDATE 11/18/2020

Dear BCC Family,

Most of you have already heard that on Sunday night, the Governor announced the “new emergency order” issued by the Michigan Dept of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in response to rising Coronavirus cases.

While churches and religious gatherings were not mentioned in the press conference or the written order, we still feel compelled to take into account the reasons for this new order, and plan accordingly.

We know that our safety is equally important as our need to continue to gather together for worship, especially in these trying times. So, after much prayer and consulting with leadership, here is what we believe we need to do, at least for now.

We will continue our in-person services for those who wish to meet in person. In addition to the thorough disinfecting and cleaning, and other measures we have in place, we will increase the safegaurds to ensure safety of those who attend.  That means

  1. We ask you to wear masks always, unless you are seated.

  2. We already have rows of chairs six feet apart, but we will add more rows

 offering more seating.

3 . We ask you to avoid hugging and shaking hands and instead nod, wave, and air hug!

  4.  We are looking at ways to provide other areas, apart from the main sanctuary, such as the Clay Chapel, to allow for separation into smaller groups.

We will continue to live stream and use technology for those who would rather participate on-line.  We are also looking at ways to make the online experience better.

I know that this is hard, and there is a range of opinions out there.  I was reminded this week of Daniel’s depiction of the Antichrist who will “wear down the saints of the Highest One.” (Daniel 7:25). I as your pastor, and this church’s leadership is doing all we can to make the right decisions to navigate this crisis we find ourselves in. I am asking you to do three things:

  1. Pray! that we will continue to be united, not grow weary, and lean on Him  during these times.

  2. Be agile! We may have to change course depending on how things progress.

  3. Most importantly, I urge you to start thinking of ways that we can remain connected as the body of Christ throughout the week, encouraging one another in Christ.

Blessings,

Pastor Danesh

Heading 2

UPDATE: March 19, 2020 - Bellevue Christian Church Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear Bellevue Christian Church Family,

We are living in unprecedented times, but our Lord is still in control!  We are not able to be physically together with the current restrictions due to the Coronavirus, but our hearts are united as one as we continue worshipping and growing together as a church family – online, in family rooms, on the phone, via social media, or seated on our couches! We are being reminded by this challenge that indeed we are the church, not the place where we meet.

The leadership team has been praying for you and working hard to find ways that we can stay connected.  We need each other!  Here is the plan as we walk together through this time:

KEEPING US CONNECTED: Connection is the fabric of the church. One of the most important things to do is to stay connected to each other and encourage one another. With that in mind, every one of you who regularly attends BCC is being assigned to a leader who is going to contact you on a weekly basis, pray with you, and together you can be the church supporting one another. If you do not hear from someone by the end of next week, then it is possible we do not have your contact info.  Please send us your information, and we will get in touch with you. You can email your info to bcc@mybcconline.org, or click here and submit your information.

WEEKEND WORSHIP SERVICE: With the new directive around limits on the number of people meeting together, we will not be meeting in the church building.  Instead, Sunday services will be streamed online at 10:30 AM.  Go to http://mybcconline.org and click on the “Join Online Service.” You can invite others by sharing the link.  We will also post it on our Facebook page.

IGNITE STUDENT MINISTRY YOUTH SERVICE: Pastor Caleb will be doing this service online using Zoom video conferencing technology on Wednesdays at 6 pm.  This will make it interactive, and the youth can participate, and see each other.  The link to this will be posted on Ignite Student Ministry Facebook page, and the church web page.  Send the link to any youth you know so they can participate.

ROOTS KIDS MINISTRY SERVICE: Kid’s service will be recorded and posted on the Facebook page, and on the church web page at http://mybccoline.org.  Because it will be recorded, you can have your children participate at the same time as Sunday service, or a time that may be convenient for you. Share with your friends who may be stuck at home and are looking for wholesome ideas for their kids!

MID-WEEK BIBLE STUDIES: We will continue to meet for the bible studies using the Zoom Video conferencing technology. You can see each other and interact with each other! Invite friends to join and grow together in the Word!

GIVING: Your continued faithfulness in giving is so appreciated, and it helps us continue to do the work God has called us to do here in Bellevue, and around the world.  Here are ways you can give:

     ONLINE:

     OR

MAIL: Mail checks to PO Box 115, Bellevue, MI 49021

INFO SHARING:  We will be sharing information via the website and our Facebook pages for various ministries.

I know there is a lot of rapid change due to the nature of what we are facing, and we are doing our best to use wisdom and discernment as we adjust to this new reality. Due to the government regulations, and CDC directives, we will continue in this mode with online classes and connecting with one another over the phone in small groups until further notice.  We will adjust as updates are received. To keep up to date, “LIKE” our Bellevue Christian Church Facebook page.

In all this, I am confident that the Lord will give us what we need, and we will come out on the other side stronger and better.  Love you all!

Blessings,
Pastor Danesh

UPDATE: 3/12/20 - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Dear Church Family,

At Bellevue Christian Church we want to make sure that we take care for our congregation in all respects, including the physical well-being of our community.  To that end, we are asking you, our church family, to take precautions especially in light of recent developments with the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  At this point in time, we do not have any confirmed cases here in Bellevue, but we want to make sure that everyone is safe, especially the elderly, and those who may have compromised immune systems or chronic respiratory conditions. Here is how we are committed to keeping our meeting area clean and safe:

  • We will sanitize highly touched surfaces before and after every service such as doors, handles, tables, café areas, check-in stations, bathrooms, etc.

  • Our staff and volunteer teams wash their hands frequently and will stay home if they are sick.

  • We have hand-sanitizing stations around the campus and encourage their frequent use.

  • We will continue to thoroughly sanitize all children’s toys and play areas in the Nursery and Clay Chapel before and after each service.

  • When we have the time of greeting during services, we recommend you greet each other with smiles and waves instead of handshakes.

  • We encourage you to take every precaution to keep yourselves and others safe. Stay home when you or your family members are sick. We are working on providing services online or make messages available to you at home.

  • We recommend that you give your tithe and offering online. We will not pass offering plates during our services but will have them available on the way out of the Worship area.

  • We will discontinue the 2nd Sunday potlucks, communion, food and coffee service at all ministry activities except for prepackaged food and snacks for the children in the nursery.

We encourage you to take every precaution to keep yourself and others safe. You can help stop the spread of viruses in the following ways:

  • Stay home when you or your family members are sick.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • Cover your face when sneezing or coughing and get in the habit of not touching your face.

  • If you are returning from a high-alert area, we urge you to consider refraining from attending church events, classes, and services for the recommended 14-day time frame.

  • If you or someone you know tests positive for COVID-19, please let us know right away so we can find a way to help, pray for everyone involved, and take the necessary precautions here at BCC.

We must remember that God has not called us to live in fear but in faith. As Paul wrote, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Tim 1:7 NIV).  In a time like this we as the church are called to spread hope and love, and not fear and despair. Together we have faith to receive everything that God has promised to us by His word.  We will continue to experience a wonderful, Spirit-filled atmosphere at our services, and we look forward to worshipping together this Sunday.

Blessings,
BCC Leadership Team
